Life's hard decisions

There are many things in life that you will have to encounter during this journey on this big spinning ball of dirt.  In the past week I have had to make, what I believe to be, the hardest decision to date.  I had my sweet baby Boots put to sleep.  Yes, the full of energy, ball of fur that I have had since the years my grandparents were alive.

During his last days he was not living a quality of life that I wanted for him.  He had lost so much weight, that all that was left was mainly bones and he had gotten to where it was all he could do to just perform his daily actions like breathing.  I will say that there will never be another Boots.  He was certainly a special cat, friend, and companion.  He had been through all of my rough times with life and relationships, when it appeared that no one else was there.  He was the one that snuggled me all of those nights that I cried myself to sleep or when I just needed someone to talk to.  I know this may seem crazy to some but I guess when you don't have siblings growing up you attach yourself for other people or beings.  I certainly miss him.  This house has been so quiet.  I still have the litter box and food, almost like I believe that he is going to pop out of a wall or something.

I truly do not know that I will have another animal after this.  As much as I love them I am not sure that I can handle the pain of loosing another one.  Boots you wil forever remain in my heart sweet baby.  I love you.
