Indecision and cupcakes
Over the past few week or so I have come to the realization that I am not completely satisfied with where I am in my life. No, I don't mean my marriage or anything like that, I would not change one thing about that. I am talking about my career life. I never, in a million years, pictured myself sitting behind a desk and don't think anyone else did either. I have always been the type of person that has needed something to do at all times. Maybe a little A.D.D.! I have a steady job, that pays the bills, little excitement, seeing the same people doing the same transactions every week. I NEED MORE STIMULATION!!! I require a career that will keep me on my toes, something that that will keep me motivated, keep intrigued.
The thought has crossed my mind that maybe the reason I didn't continue my nursing education is because I had the belief that it was "too hard" or that I just wasn't ready for that much responsibility. Hell, possibly even that I was lazy and didn't want to take on the challenge. When I know the true reason is cause I can't handle the death part of it. So, I have been giving this nagging part of me a some time to ponder on what I would like to do and this what the conclusion has come to.......
Culinary School.
I know what some of your are thinking...What?! I have a passion for food! I love to eat it, make it, everything about food excites me! The way that you can feed someones soul with food. It's a pure way of saying "I love you" and "You mean a lot to me". Yes fashion has also been another delight of mine, however, I have been able to experience it. It will always be there (I will never give up my obsession for shoes!). My mom can tell you that even when I was little I loved being in the kitchen. Another reason I love cooking so much is that it makes me feel closer to my grandparents. When I cook it is almost like I can see Granny and Papa looking over my shoulder saying that's right, good job. Food has always been a big part of my family. We always gathered around the table at Granny's once to twice a week, sometimes more. It can bring families together, comfort you when you need some reassurance, and create memorable moments that you never forget. Like the time my dad and I made that massive cookie for Santa, I know he's the one that took that big bite, but I will never forget it. Or watching my Granny making fried apple pies during the summer. I want everyone to experience the connections that I have with foods, to be able to let people feel that closeness it can bring. I wan to enrich peoples minds, bodies, and souls. This is my goal.
