To tiny or not to tiny
It has been entirely too long since my last post and I apologize to myself for that. This is a release that is needed and very welcome.
As of late I have been having these overwhelming feelings of the need to have a place that is "ours". My husband stumbled upon a house that is for sell in the city limits of Mt. Airy that we could afford. This house is perfect according to the pictures. There is a beautiful wrap around porch on the front, it is white with black shutters, three bedroom, one bath, screened in back porch, a laundry room and fairly large kitchen. I have taken a very strong liking and emotional tie to this house, even though I have yet to step foot in it.
I have always dreamed of owning a home with a wrap around porch, sort of farm house/cottage style, maybe this is the reasoning behind this sudden, crazy attachment to this house. Dreams of being able to have our families over for the holidays, having friends over for cookouts, and being able to walk to where I need to go, instead of driving when not necessary.
I never thought we would be able to find it or even afford it. So the thoughts of this happening got pushed out of my mind. For the past few years we have been looking into the Tiny House movement. Which is amazing! You live in a house that is a quarter the size of the home that is spoke about above. It focuses on minimalist living and living with less so that you can focus that energy on other things such as life. I have been completely on board with this idea and plan until this house.
When I see it and see my dream, I question whether the tiny house is the right decision or not. I realize that if we were to do the tiny house we would be able to devote more time and money to traveling and experiencing life. However, on the other hand I see us in that other house in the city, being able to have friends and family over easier and with in reach of most everything,
The decision is not something that will most likely come quickly, but I just keep milling it over in my mind, focused on trying to figure out which would be the better option. I know that Gary doesn't completely understand why I am so emotional over this and most likely thinks I am crazier than he already did, For me it is fulfilling the dream of having that home, whether it be traditional or tiny. If we could figure out a way to combine the two would be perfect, but that would be a hard order to fill.
So, I guess in the mean time I will just clean.

Take your time, make a list, and follow your heart. You can never go wrong that way. 😉
